News from Czech

Postby czech flyfisherman » October 14th, 2009, 4:22 pm

Hello here,

I am so sorry I didn't made any report for long time, but I was just so bussy with getting all the paper work for our new house and of course with fishing :D .

So the fshing here is good right now, the DFG stock the river twice this year and the last stock was about 4 week ago and they put some nice bows pushing 25". Also the grayling fishing is also good specialy in the fall. The fishing season ends in November 31st so I have some days left for fishing. :D But today here in Czech the weather get CRAZY....it was snowing all day and tepmerature was 0 celsia it's about 32°F, so it's looks like the winter is already here...this is sucks.

O.k here are some pict
Here is the river where they stock the fish.

Nice hole ;)

And the fish from this hole. It was 20"

And another one, but little smaller.

Some nice browns. I did take this one home for dinner. ;)

Another one.

And know some pict from another part o the river, It was place where I was use to fish 10-15 years ago, and the place was pardise for me, trees was everywhere and the river was full of fish. I visit the place 2 days ago for firts time I home and I was in shock....big time, all the trees are gone. My heard almost stop. Here is the pict of the place call paradise 10 years ago.
Image
The river there change a lot too, there was realy big and deep pool with all the fish you can wish for - big browns, grayling, big pikes over 3-4 feet long and know there is nothing, the river is dead up there. But I caught some small browns so maybe in couple of years the river will have some nice fish, but who knows.
Some pict of the river.

In here it was Pikes honey hole.

Lot f Graylings was here.

So I can say the time I was in USA my gorgeous river change a lot in some places.

One month ago I visit with my friend Slovenia do some FF up there. The river where we fish was very nice, very wide and deep, and the color was amazing.
Image
Image
The fishing license in Slovenia can be from 20 eur and can reach 150 eur for ONE DAY OF FF so its very expensive. But the river holds o lot of fish and big fish. I was fishing with streamersand land some fish around 20", but I lost a lot of them over 25"-30". But ever you can see so many fish in he river, the river is clean so you can see realy deep and then you see these big trout in the river, but it was so hard to caught them. The fish can stay in 20-30 feet deep hole and you can not put our fly that deep, because the law say you can you just and only one fly with out any weight. But it was realy good experience for me.
It's me

The fish is on

It wasn'tbig fish, but these fish fight hard, because they live in strong river.

So this was all with my fishing and now something more...
I hepled my father bild fire place with smoker, It was hard work but I thing its look very nice, and also we dring a lot of SLIVOVICA after it was the fire place done. And all is made from slate.

And now finaly our new house. So now you can see how will be the house looks like.

Zee-So good to hear from you. The pictures of you and the fish are the Zee that I remember.

The fireplace/smoker is outstanding and I remember the Silvokia. Your house will be everything you thought it would be and more.
I am assuming that little Zees and Zettes might be the future after it is built?

I do remember what you said and my dream is slowly coming true. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all that you taught me.
Give me a call one of these days. I'd love to talk with you.

Your friend,

Jim

YES I WILL :bananadance: :bananadance: :bananadance: I'm making up for all the trips I missed out on last year. Word is now that brookies to 24" have been caught!!! I saw a pic of a 21.5" brookie so they're in there. It's definately different not having you around for the fishing trips, but Jon, Eric and I have been keeping your big fish active on the East side.

Love the report man, those stockers are FAT!!. Slovenia looks like a very beautiful place to be fishing, and those are some big grayling you guys caught. Still gotta take you shirt off in case there might be a pretty girl nearby :D . The house renderings are cool, I've been trying to imagine what it would look like based on what you told me.

Wish you were here fishing with us man!! Get that house built so I can have a room there next year if I don't go on tour again.

Great hearing from you, Zee. Some fat, fat bows there too.

Sorry about your paradise spot. That sucks.

Mike's right, Slovenia has some beautiful waters. I hope you get to fish often with your buddy there.

The house looks killer. Make sure to build yourself one of those smoker-fireplaces. That would make a fantastic evening hangout after a day on the water. :D

Glad to see things are moving along well for you. You deserve good things, Zee.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Nice pictures. Hope the house comes along well so you're able to getback to important stuff--like fishing.

Zee,
Good hearing from you. The report was great. Too bad about your old fishing place with out the trees and fish. It looks like a bomb went off there. The house looks like it will be nice when it is done. The only thing I can suggest is to move it closer to river.

Hey,

I dont have to travel far the one river is about 10 - 30 minutes drive from my city, its depense where I wanna fish. The Slovenia rivers are little bit far about 7 hours drive, but still is not bad at all.
