Update on Craigs Rod

Top two pieces are done

Cork grip that Craig likes


Will shape the grip and wrap the bottom section this week. Rod should be done by Wednesday or Thursday

Looking good. Do you glue your grip cork onto the blank and turn them that way or use a mandrel to turn them then transfer to the blanks? I've always used a mandrel, but have heard of folks doing it directly o their blanks.

I use a mandrel. The only time that I would turn the blank is if I was doing a swelled butt.

Well the Fly Rod is done. Bob sent in a great looking rod sock as well for this build.
