Tiny Reel?

Need some help finding a tiny reel. Looks like I have the Midge-A-Boo sold but, the prospective client would like me to recommend a small reel * for a 4'11" bamboo rod. it doesn't even need to be big enough to hold backing.

J. Austin Forbes. I own the Falcon model.

Also the J. Auston Forbes Aerial in 2.5"

Or you could go micro - There are a few micro reels out there.. but I dont think they are quality.

The J. Austin Forbes reel Bill mentions, would be my first pick. Small, with classic styling.

Teton reels used to make a small, standard arbor reel. I did a google and found this.

Not sure what the status is, but they went out of biz, then were/are set to relaunch. At 2 1/2" diameter, it's a small reel. For comparison, the CFO I is 2 3/4" The small Classic reels on ebay would look nice(IMHO)too.

The smaller one with the blued finish and non-ported spool. Very nice dark blued finish.

I think I am going to order another 20 or so of different sizes next month.

The larger sizes (3" and 3.25") both have adjustable drag systems with the little tumb wheel on the rim - very hardy looking. These smaller sizes do not have adjustable drag - just a clicker, perfect for your application.

If I ever get to finish the 5' one piece boo I am building myself, I will want to get one of the small reels from you. I am so busy building rods and working overtime I can't even think about builds for myself right now.

It just depends how tiny you want to go. The JAF like Anacrime's is basically as tiny as it gets, and I mean, it is super tiny.

Ballan does make some sweet reels...his featherwieght would be pretty cool for this application at 2 7/8".

I've always liked the old Pflueger Progress (bulldogs) on those old classic rods. Here's one that just sold on ebay, and they pop up all the time:

What is the weight of the 2.5 reel. I'm interested in one in silver with the spool ported.
