Cork Grip Selection

Since the thread color is Red and green on this build I think the red and green checks will look good.
Grips 2, 3, and 4 still need to be turned down.

Jon I agree with Mike. Send Craig a pm and see what he wants. I really like those new grips your working on. but the checkerboard grips might not be everyone's cup of tea.

If it were my rod, i'd want a very traditional build. Since it's NOT my rod, I think Craig should get what he wants. I do like voting though.

I guess Craig is still busy on the video shoot.

I know a lot of you like the plane jane type grip but what do you guys think of this grip for the rod.
It has green as well as red to match the thread.
With a custom style grip you just know it is a custom built rod

Still waiting for Craig to chime in on this one

I like how you turned it down, but it is honestly too busy for my liking, but them I lean towards plain janes or ones with 2 1/4 highlight burl rings. Never been much for the one with all the bells and whistles, but hey, Craig's a youngun and he may like all that bling....JMHO.

Ok, looking at the results of all the polls you posted it looks like everything is in place for you to build one bad a-- looking rod. I am really excited to see how it comes out. Now work your fingers to the bone and "Git her done", no sleep for you :rockon:

Talked to Craig over the weekends and he would like a grip that looks something like this one(Bottom Grip)

Half weels with accent rings.
I have ordered the accent rings so they should be here by the end of the week at the latest.

You have become the "Phil Donahue" of on line fly rod building with your surveys! What a neat idea to get a consensus. This is going to be an incredible build. Can't wait to see the final product.

Craig went with this set up for the grip
1/2 Composite ring
1/4 natural burl
1/4 green burl

Grip is done and installed on the rod.

I'm going to leave this up to the majority since I can't tell what I'd like. Serious its cuz I'm color blind!!!!!
