If there are accessories gentleman, I'm sure I will find them :)

Per your comment:The pontoons look awesome and I think would be a very deep rabbit hole, so to speak... I mean you have the ability to have a multi-rod holder, trolling motor, stand up platform, oars, fins, fish finder... and knowing you - you will end up getting all those things.

The float tube is also a deep hole :) : I have a multi-rod holder set-up, fins, & fish finder on my tube. I can also add a rowing frame for oars

There is even a trolling motor add-on option

The only option I can't add is the standing platform.

Ryan, as you can see, they're both risky.

Jim, Point taken. However... I will say that I think with a float tube I feel like its - grab my waders, get some fins from my parents' attic, and go fish. (though I fish the tube basically exclusively on a single small pond... so its not a huge sample size)

With a Toon, it basically doesn't feel worth it to have a pontoon without all the toys!... its like its incomplete without a trolling motor at least!
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

Ray,

I agree that the tube is much simpler (altough I feel naked without my depth finder on either craft and I love having at least 3 rods with me at all times, just trying to figure out how to carry them when I'm wading). The tube is inflated all the time and sits in my office ready to go. I would do the same for the pontoon but I would need a trailor (it won't fit in my minivan assembled) and I don't have anywhere to park it.

I can't speak to the trolling motor yet but will let you know soon as it's on my christmas list.

........and then you graduate into a real boat.

Been there. Done that. Still haven't learned my lesson.
