New To The Board

Postby jazz on the fly » December 12th, 2009, 11:21 pm

Hey Everyone,

My name is Andre and I'm in the San Gabriel Valley area and I'm looking for other people to fly fish with locally. I've only been fly fishing for couple of years and since I've become somewhat obsessive about fly fishing, I've gained a great deal of "book knowledge", but unfortunately the practical on-stream end of things is a little bit lacking. Hopefully y'all can help me out with that. Tight Lines!

BTW ... glad to see you have my favorite smiley here

Willkommen Andre! That is Bienvenido Andrés!… welkom, benvingut, tere tulemast, maligayang pagdating & karibu.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Hey Andre,
I understand the boat you're in. I did the same thing at the beginning. Don't worry, most of that book lernin' is gonna come in handy eventually. Unless you've been touching up on two handed spey casting for locals, that may not translate as well :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I was thinking about hitting a local stream this week. Anyone interested?

Welcome to site.
You might find that most of the local streams will be snowed in or running high and offcolor. :( But don't let that stop you from going. :?
