Think about it............ok, think longer. 
Let's try this again. We are lucky we can fly fish pretty much 365 days a year for trout and other species. We have native strains of rainbow, cutthroat, and Golden trout. We have viable steelhead rivers, with some wild fish still returning each year. On top of that, salmon, striped bass, large and smallmouth, panfish, and carp. We have surf and bluewater fishing. I'm sure I've missed many more. Not many states can boast the same list.
What does your fishing season calender look like.
Mine.
Jan/Winter. The finish of stripers, and the begging of trout season. I hope to return to a steelhead river this season.
Early to late Spring. Still fishing for trout, but stripers pop back up. Shad and the beginning of largemouth bass. The panfish ponds are warming. Looking to make my first trip for Lahontans.
Summer. Caddis time. Full on largemouth. Might squeeze in a striper trip.
Fall. Trout and LMB are a fading memory, and stripers are starting to dominate my thoughts. Always yearn to get on a steelhead river if I can swing the time.
Winter and 365 days later. I should have had a fun year fishing within the state borders. Somewhere during the year I would like to fish the salt, and try for a couple new species. Sure, leaving the State opens up a whole new world of fishing, but until I can manage to get the free time, i'll be throwing stuff at the locals.
By the way. Apologies for so many posts today. I'm home, caring for a sick 7 year old.
One can only watch so many kid shows, before you have to do something else or go insane.
