I'm certain a number of You already Own it or have seen it, and I'll bet a number of You received it for a Xmas Gift.. But I felt compelled to mention what I consider is the Finest Flyfishing Oriented DVD out there...

"...Rivers of a Lost Coast..."

This Wonderful DVD deals with the Northern Coast area of California, about the Steelhead and Pacific Salmon Flyfishing that was Pioneered there over 50 years ago.. It covers many of the Pioneers of the sport, with more then a fair share covering Bill Schaadt.. The Greatest Steelhead/ Pacific Salmon Flyfisher ever.. (Schaadt is a Big Idol of mine as well..)..

AS the Film progresses One is enlightened to the developments that improved the Pursuit of both noble races of Sea Run Fish.. Towards the end we are also shown, in no uncertain detail, how we Managed to just about wipe out the Steelhead and Salmon runs thru runaway timber harvest practices, Dam building and Water Diversion and uncontrolled Commercial harvest of the Salmon....

At the very end we are given a Glimmer of Hope of bringing back the runs from total extinction.. thru Grass Roots organizations

The Soundtrack is flat out wonderful, easily the Finest I've ever heard on a Flyfishing DVD... The Piano work is hauntingly beautiful at times, and Terrible Sad at other times.. It fits the overall theme of the Film perfectly...

I've watch this DVD numerous times and always am awe struck at how Powerful it is....

Even if You never intend to pitch flies for Steelhead and pacific Salmon along the Northern Coast of California.. You owe it to Yourself to watch this Powerfully beautiful & deeply Moving Film....

I cannot recommend "Rivers of a Lost Coast" strongly enough...
