I have a tiny announcement

Postby rkfiske » December 31st, 2009, 2:36 pm

So I walk into a large sporting goods store that randomly has some half decent stuff. Happens to get good deals once in awhile. I decided to pick up some tungsten beads and crazy pink estaz and a bunch of other stuff marked down. Talked to a guy who was working there about rods really quick and turns out they had one on sale. Now, I had been in the market for a new small stream stick, and had basically decided on fiberglass. Had my money put away and ready to go, planned on picking up a Hardy from the spot. Sorry to say but I got a little sidetracked, the glass will have to wait. Looks like I ended up stuck with another graphite stick

I went a little crazy with a photoshoot but hey, if there were a beautiful woman standing in a bikini and you had a camera, would you just snap one

Yes you are probably guessing by now. I got the fairiest of the fairies, the runt of the litter, the wimpiest of wands, the triple ought!

I am so happy to be a fairy wand bearer :D :D :D

I didn't even have plans of ever getting a rod this small in line, but I just couldn't pass up the deal. I originally though hey, if I don't like it I'm sure I could sell it to break even to one of those addict guys but I took it out to the front yard when I got home and it only took a couple false casts to tell me this stick wasn't going anywhere else! I have yet to really break it out on the stream, I got like literally a half hour on a local with my girlfriend who was kind enough to sit patiently and let me get my little kid on christmas morning joy out of the way. I have yet to really fish it though and I can't wait!

Ryan,
Nice rod! Can't wait to hear how you like it when a 10" trout is pulling on the other end.

I'm so proud of you Ryan.
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

Hey Ryan, welcome to the club! :bananadance:

Nice Christmas present to yourself!

Keep it clean, the silver works will tarnish! I learned the hard way.

Thanks guys, Bob I'll keep an eye on that silver. It might get tarnished, I'm not too good about cleaning regimens

Nice. Have fun with the faery wand! :D
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.
