Fly box DONE!!

Postby Artin » January 1st, 2010, 1:36 pm

Hi boys and girls! Happy New year to all....
About a week ago I asked for your opinion on the flies I should tie for a box I am putting together for my friends birthday...
I am done!
Thank you all for your input!
Here is the finished product... I hope he likes it! :D
Nymphs...
Image
Hares ears, Zebras, PT's (the original Sawyer recipe), Stonefly nymphs, WD-40's, couple of scuds green rock worms, caddis wet fly emergers and La Fontaine sparkling pupas....

Dries/streamer
Image
Para Adams, Para BWO Duns, 2 stimmies, 2 Wulffs, My personal fave CDC and Elk (dun) couple of Kings river caddis and a couple of Red Quills. Also I put in olive woolies in case he gets frustrated with trying to get a perfect drift and needs to pull something for bigger fish!

So there is the box... didn't quite get all the patterns in but I think this will cover 95% of the fishing in the sierras...

Thanks Bob,

That is actually a CF Design fly box. I like them they very convenient as well as light weight. I switched over to those for my trout flies a while back.

What a wonderful present! I'm sure he'll be stoked when he gets a personal best from that collection.

Nice flies and a terrific gift idea... I need to get the materials to tie those caddises...

Crap... I'm an idiot... I've been using my fly box upside down this whole time

I will keep you posted on my rods for sure.
I hope they come out nice... actually I'd rather have them function properly first! Then I will worry about cosmetics!
