Fly donations 2010

Postby fflutterffly » January 15th, 2010, 10:42 am

Again I am asking anyone who would like to donate flies to a Breast Cancer fly fishing organization to participate. This time it is Reeling and Heeling. The reason I am placing it not only in the swap area, but also here, is to ask that those who do not want to tie flies simply purchase them from theflyshop.com and make your order. Next email Kory at info@theflystop.com and state that they are for the fly donation program. With each order he will include a few more flies, gratis as his donation. Kory will forward them to me and I will again handle boxing them as well as shipping cost. Last year we managed to have around 1000 flies donated to Casting for Recovery. Thank you all for participating in that program. I'd like to have all flies in by March 31

Please PM me if you'd like to participate.

Thank you
Ariel

NIce idea, Ariel. Working with Kory. With his prices, perhaps a few more people will contribute this year. I've not time to tie right now as I am tying for myself and a buddy, but will see about ordering some up for you. What kind of deadline are you looking at on this?

Darrin
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Sorry Darrin. March 31 will be the deadline. Thank you so much for participating. The smaller organizations have difficulty getting items as well as funds. Each year karen and I pick 5 charities for donations. This will be one of them as well as Healing Waters. I'm not sure what I'll do for them but I'll do something useful.
