I was 27, so I feel your pain. Maybe if we both show up at Midges and ply him with alcohol, he won't be able to read the ruler correctly.

Be my guest, but you better bring a shovel as they haven't plowed our street since late last night and the road has at least 18 inches of snow in it, not to mention some nimrod of a neighbor piled all his snow onto the street making a barrier of about 5 feet high across the middle of the road. It's still snowing too. I just plowed another 5 inches out of the driveway and called the wife and told her to spend another night at her cousin's place in San Bernardino. 330 was closed, but is now R3 which for those unfamiliar with the system, means chains required on ALL vehicles including 4WD--NO EXCEPTIONS. You can't drive in it anyway so why even try. Chains won't help if your're high centered with snow pushing under your car, duh.

Time for wine, and I'll take the last measurement in 15 minutes.

It's 6:10. I think Mike got drunk and fell asleep by the fire.

Here are the final depth shots. The winner should be glad I set a 6:00 PM final measurement as it is snowing like a banshee out there still and the depths are going to keep on up. It actually did go up about 6 inches since Benny posted earlier.

Note all the snow coming down in the shot.

Final measurement is 43 inches:

The winner is Justin at 43 inches and Benny gets second at 43.5 inches.

Winners contact me by IM and give me an address and let me know what type flies you fish or where you fish and I'll get these off to you.

Thanks everyone for playing. It was fun and helped keep my mind off the sore muscles from moving the snow.

Wow. Impressive snow fall. To this flat lander anyway. Congrats, guys. I liked the buried Toyota as well. :D

Thanks Midger for the fun.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

If I were a politician I would demand a recount. I ‘m sure glad I’m not one! So now Midger lets have a contest to guess how long it will take the snow to melt off your deck.

There were no losers Frank--all you flyfishers are winners as far as I'm concerned. Look at the bright side, none of you have to shovel it, well except I'm sure Wildman, WanderingBlues, and a couple others probably have their own snow to move. But hey, the snow comes with our choices to live in the mountains, and I wouldn't live anywhere else in Southern California. My back might argue that point tonight, but it will be fine tomorrow.

I'll post some after storm shots tomorrow.
