I would like to know if anyone on this forum is interested in tying flies for Casting for Recovery. This organization takes men and women who have suffered from breast cancer on to the water to fly fish. Just let me know and well get this thing going.

Maybe we can get different shops to donate a box or two (hopefully of the same kind). I like your idea of pink flies. Let me run this by you. Only one fly, maybe a stimulator dry can be pink and we can post that as the opening fly for the box. Then each person can just tie as needed. As for Lisa, why haven't she and I fished together yet? Don't worry I don't bite.
I haven't heard back from the organization yet, but I'm expecting a message today in the evening. I'll let you know.

There is no deadline on this project as of yet. I'm thinking maybe Dec. 1, 2008.
You can tie any flies, any amount, any color, any size. 2 of each or 20 of one. You pick. I am working on getting fly boxes for all these flies, which might take me that long to arrange it. Regardless of how this will be present the FlyFishingAddicts.com will be credited for the donation as well as the tier for each box.

I've changed the plan. You can tie them any time you'd like, any flies you'd like and as many as you'd like. I'll do all the pink stimulators for each box, even if I have to purchase the little boxes. (Not asking for help on the purchase. don't read that wrong.) Just tie up the flies and send them to me. I'll take care of the rest. I don't want this to be a complicated effort.

I'm looking for the smallest, cheepest boxes. The one purchased from Fishermans Spot for the Rendezvous flies I tied was blue and about 5.00. It was perfect. I figure any small box will be good. That way I can split up the flies in so more boxes, thus more people get flies. the box is maybe 3" x 4" x 1"

One of the best boxes I've found for carrying on stream are the Morrell foam ones. They come in Olive, bright lime green, navy, or white and 4 different sizes. I'd suggest the smallest ones. I use one a lot locally as they float, are easy to open/close (magnetic), and exceptionally light weight--one of the lightest I've found. They have a ripple foam interior so placing flies is very easy. They are also very cheap. You can find some generic poly boxes, but a lot of them don't hold up too well. You can get compartmentalized plastic Spirit River boxes for under $5--around 3-4--but they have no foam for placing the flies.
