There's a super sale going on now, but you have to act fast.

From the Travelzoo Newsdesk:

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA--FEBRUARY 8, 2010-- Alaska Airlines just
launched a rare summer sale on flights to Alaska from five
airports in Southern California. This sale knocks more than
$150 off most roundtrip fares in the market.

Fares start at $259 each way when traveling May 15-Sept. 15.
Roundtrip fares to Alaska are regularly upwards of $700
during peak summer months.

This sale is valid from Los Angeles, Burbank, Ontario, San
Diego and Orange County.

Sample fares (each way):
- Juneau ... $259
- Ketchikan ... $259
- Sitka ... $259
- Anchorage ... $279

Many other destinations inside Alaska are included in this
sale. Fly on Monday-Thursday and Saturday for the best
fares. Tickets must be booked by Feb. 14.

To book directly through Alaska Airlines, click the link
below. Use the "Low Fare Calendar" option to find the best
fares:

Something else to keep in mind: United, Delta & Continental all are returning service to Anchorage starting in June. Alaska Airlines has had a virtual monopoly to Anchorage for a number of years. It's possible that once the other carriers ramp up service, start up sales, etc, will drive prices even lower. As of right now, even with this latest "sale", ticket prices are at the same cost as they were last year when AA had virtually no competition.
