Guarantee Work

Postby lucfish » March 17th, 2010, 10:52 am

A couple of weeks ago, I broke my 6 weight GL3 Loomis. The rod is about 15 years old This was the 3rd time. I'm a little rough on equipment so this doesn't surprise me. I always liked this rod and wanted to get another one, so I went to the San Diego flyshop in Temecula and had them send it to Loomis. (guaranteed for life right?)This was Last Tuesday the 9th. Imagine my surprise when on Monday the 15th Dave at the shop called me to tell me the rod was in. Now that's service. Unfortunately they discontinued making 2 piece GL3s. and gave me their replacement rod, Expereince I believe it's called. I tried it last night at Canyon and it worked just fine, maybe a little softer than the original but it caught 7 bass in 2 hours, can't complain about that! That as fast a warrantee turnaround you can have. I'm very happy. Great service

Yea, Now that's service! Good to see them do that. I've sent my Orvis Trout Bum in a couple of times... they are also good. One thing about the Fly Fishing manufacturers, they are so good at customer service! Something that lacks in sooooo many other areas of retail. Gotta give 'em some kudos for being so good and appreciating their customers.

Wildfly: It's actually a combo conventional/flyshop. It's called Bluewater Tackle/San Diego Flyshop. They have another store in the San Diego area. They have about 1500 square feet of flygear, with a good assortment of saltwater flys, which is why I go there. If your in the area pm me and if my schedule allows I"ll take you Canyon. The time to go is now, it's really good!!!! You would want to avoid week-ends though. Just because it's private doesn't mean it's not crowded. No I haven't tried for carp at Elsinore, I haven't figured it out yet but a person I met on the Canyon has and if I'm lucky we'll go in the next couple of weeks. Always pays to have local knowledge.
