But I had to let everyone here who maybe doesn't read your blog know about your article about your kid Hudson. I have always enjoyed your photo documentation of Hudson growing up and it's the one fly fishing thing I can show my girlfriend that she thoroughly loves. Makes me sad that someone wouldn't be absolutely ecstatic about fresh blood in the sport!!

Great story, well sort of execpt for the "instructor" part
I think us Dad's are just getting better at teaching our youngsters not to "tell" about where they were fishing there's really not that bad of a gap! Just wait to see what these kids post about.

Anyway I'm sure Aaron didn't want some * posting here about his stuff not getting the point of it all and that's why he didn't post about it here, well there is also the fact he has an awesome blog!! Either way it is always great to see the next Gen!!

Hey guys,

The stuff on my blog is just my thoughts as they happen. No reason to point out the store or the specific instructor. Causing personal grief for the guy wasn't really my purpose. More so hopefully influence those in the spot to teach others, to pause in the presence of a youngster next time.

Truth is, same type of incident could have happened in a dozen spots. Not sure that is a great thing for our sport. Issue 4 of our little eZine is going to be dedicated to 17 and under only. Turning the pages towards youth involvement. "The missed generation".

No worries, if I post it on my site, it's fair game. Feel free to chat about it, but not really looking -myself- to call anyone out personally. Been on the receiving end of that far to often. From my side of things, It is a loss of character in the industry as a whole. Too many folks think it's easy to sit behind a keyboard with a Lion's courage, and no responsibility to what their words do.

Just my 2 cents. Be kind to each other. Anger that comes quick, is the "question", not the "answer". Sorry not trying to sound preachy,

Looking forward to the under 17 issue! If you have any good tricks for getting the kids off of the video games and onto the river, I'm all ears. I can get my boys to fish when we are on a family vacation (hiking, backpacking, etc.) but getting them animated for a Saturday trip to the river with dad is getting harder and harder.

Aaron ... You're an excellent writer and photographer. As an educator, hearing about someone that calls themselves an instructor, a teacher, or any other related term, turning away someone that wants to learn makes me want to break off a b***h slap. It frankly makes the rest of us look bad in addition to it's effects on "the industry" and "the sport". I've always believe that you should watch what you say to people that you don't know, because you never really know who you're talking to. That guy made himself look like an butt by assuming you didn't understand the difference between a fly rod and a spin rod. His job that day was to put his stupid ego aside and help promote fly fishing and the sale of it's related gear at that store and I think I can say with confidence that by treating you in the manner that he did, failed miserably. I've never met you, but your reaction to what everyone has been saying on this board tells me that you are a humble man and also a man of strong moral fiber. Keep up the good work.
