Perris lake 4/18.

Postby flyster » April 18th, 2010, 4:23 pm

Hit Perris lake with my grandson this morning before the Laker game started. Fished the old water slide point. We saw some bass working the shallows for breakfast. My grandson using spinhead gear tied on a crankbait that a good friend had given him. I was using Clear camo intermedite sink with a tried and ture Enrico's shad tied bentback style. Farmed my first two and landed the third.Image
Not more then ten went by when I heard a yell from my grandson saying "I have a big one on and he is taking line out!!"
Image
The way he was peeling line out I knew it was his first carp. After 20 minutes and four long runs he finally landed the fish. Foul hooked. Well it as a good fight and he learn a little bit more about landing large fish. Image
A little over 16 lbs. (boy it felt heavyer than that) and 32" long :bananadance:ImageImage

That's one large fish. No wonder it took 20 minutes to get it in, and I'll bet it was quite a thrill for him.

You can bet he will be telling his friends about catching a fish as big as he was! Way to spend time with your grandson!

Wow. That Kid outfishes me by a mile!
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

Look at his face. BIG fish mentality all the way. He's got the look  " Yeah I got a big fish but will get more."

Most of us would be giggling in the picture because it was our once in a lifetime fish.

Way to go!

If I remember correctly, your grandson is a fish magnet. Now that he has big fish experience, all I can say is, look out fish! There's no stopping the boy. :)
