Hey anacrime, I really enjoyed reading your blog and looking at your photos! Great stuff!

I'll PM the guy's that I know are coming in a minute, with my cell phone number. I drove up to Bishop two weeks ago to scout out a nice area on the LO for sunrise shots with awesome scenery, next to fishable water, with room for a small group. I've been following Craigs lead and it's my undersatnding that not everyone is an early morning type. I can tell you I'm not, but if I'm in a location as beautiful as the E Sierra, I force myself to get up early to photograph the scenery in the sweetest light. I found a really nice spot, less than a 1/4 mile downstream from the campground, fish were active, coming to the surface, all browns that I could see, and even well after sunrise there wasn't another soul on stream. For those who want to show up later than sunrise, we should be easy to find, and there is Verizon cell coverage.

I printed 8 of my photography guides, some good info, notes I've taken over the years, and put each in a folder.

The photo below is the spot I thought would be a good place to get started....

I'm trying to imagine the same water at sunrise, with clouds over the peaks and overhead, lit up pink and orange, reflecting on the water...

Fish were active right in front of me, and I'm sure they are still there, and we'll catch and photograph them. It will be a good day!

I hope to leave Burbank tomorrow about 9:AM and get home late Sunday night. I just talked to a friend in Bishop, and it is windy as *, and snowing up on the peaks, and the forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy, light wind, and 72. Sounds perfect to me.

Good luck to everyone and hope you catch both fish and great images. Hopefully, there will be a follow up that shows some of the photos on Day 1 and then on Day 2, etc. Looking forward to it!
