TFO and Fisherman's Spot does it again!

Postby fflutterffly » May 29th, 2010, 3:24 pm

By now you all know my friend Wolfee. The other day she and I went up to Hahn Park to fish our 3wts. During the morning I notice that one of her guides were broken. Off to Firsherman's spot we went, filled out the paper work and sent the rod off to TFO. I thought no problem, they'd repair the guide and ship it home. Well it's one week later, the Rod arrived, Wolfee picks it up and it is a brand new rod! Imagine that... the guide is bad and they send her a brand new rod. This company is unbelievable.
Thank you TFO an the Fisherman's Spot.

Hands down, one of the quickest(besides Loomis's Expeditor service) warranty services. I've had them replace a whole rod, or just the damaged section. Each time it took exactly a week from send off, to having the rod back in my hands. They don't even bother you with warranty registration. Excellent customer service.

That's why I have 3. I know one day I'll do something boneheaded and will need the warranty.

I just sent in my TFO Finesse because one of the guides broke. Sounds like I'll be getting a new rod, very cool. I think the warranty service at most of these companies is quite impressive. Simms, in particular, continues to blow me away every time I contact them. I think they set they bar.

Not all service warranties are the same. I broke, well actually my friend broke my 19yr old Orvis Rocky Mountain 2wt (It had a 20yr Warranty). I waited almost two months for the rod or a new replacements. It seems that the company is so F-ing cheep that they found a blank in some garage... as the story was told to me... and built a new one. OK I'm not complaining, please, I'm really not... but come on! TFO rods may not be as expensive, but they didn't even blink. Just like Sage didn't blink when I snapped the tip on my XP. Sent in ... Job done!

I sent my Smith Optics prescription sunglasses in for a broken frame, and not only did they replace the frame, they noticed my lens were scratched, and replaced those too. Great service sure does mean a lot!
