Couldnt find an "intro" forum, so figured Id start here with a quick introduction and hello to everyone.
My name is Justin, live in Lancaster, CA. Relatively new to fly fishing, mostly trolling around lakes in a float tube or kayak pulling streamers, but Ive been trying to learn more about fishing my favorite waters, small streams. Usually fish creeks and rivers with salmon eggs or spinners on an ultralight spinning rig, but recently found (successuly I might add with a nice fat 14" rainbow) the joys of nymphing on small creeks. Although I havent managed to hook anything yet, I was getting hit on a small (18 I think it was) mayfly, and WOW what an amazing feeling!!! Getting hit on the dry fly is just awesome!!!
Joined up here looking to learn some things and improve my flyfishing skills and it looks like theres a lot of really good info on here. Im also learning to improve my tying skills. The only flys ive tried were olive and black wooly buggers.
If anyone sees this truck around
or sees it set up at camp
stop by and say HI.
Since it looks like Im not working this weekend, probably going to head up and fish Bishop Creek this saturday.
