Just read that there is a pretty ominous fire raging up the road from Kernville.
Being called the Bull Fire. Riverkern is highly threatened and as I understand it, 6 homes have already been destroyed along with damage to Sequioa Lodge and Cheyenne's restaurant.
Let's hope all of our friends and firefighters up that way are safe and that it can be brought under control before any more is lost.

Yeah, scary stuff. 6 homes, 5000+ acres in a day and a half. Fast moving fire it seems.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

I have an aunt and uncle who have retired to Tehachipi. I'll have to find out if they're property is ok today.

Fire in Kernville now 11,000 acres plus. That number will jump dramatically when they are able to fly the fire with GPS mapping gear and infrared imaging. Over 1,100 assigned to the fire. This is going to be a tough one.

Been there done that too many times. Let's hope those guys on the line get the resources they need, that mother nature helps out, and that no one gets hurt or loses anymore than's already lost.
