"Self-described gang members?" How does that go down... "Hello officer, I am Joe Shmoe and I am a gang member."

"Involved in a verbal dispute across the Kings River." Hmm, looks like things got heated. For them to go and fire guns, they must have had a very choice exchange of words. Otherwise it would be more of a, "hey can you turn that music down"... "Go f yourself old man!"...

Still scary and very sad. I wish these people would just go away. We need to keep educating and teaching the next generations proper outdoors etiquette as much as we can.

"All three were booked as felons in possession of firearms, armed robbery and other charges."

Felons with guns. Enough said. It is not the same camping enviornment as when I was young, or even when my kids were young. The east side seems a bit mellower, but even that's changed. I miss the days you could leave all your stuff on your picinic table, and never think about it being stolen.

These types of people serve no useful purpose to society. I say lock um up forever or just kill um!

let me reword that:

if your trying to gang bang on a river barking, throwing signs, and or making threats/threatening gestures you should be lawfully/constitutionally eligible to get stomped out. no love for gang members. I have been on both ends of the spectrum and with that knowledge of the negative side and how they do things I am proactive and pretty conservative when it comes to protecting my family. And as far as 'lessons' and 'a**whippings' I strongly believe that you get what you deserve because if you play that game don't cry when that game plays you. and Hopefully the culprits hit their head on the way in the sheriffs unit and in booking they slipped and broke a leg, one can only hope.

Anyone ever heard gunshots and ricochets whizzing by while fishing, raise your hand. Image Image

Raising my hand. It was on the EW, on closing day (back when it closed). I kept fishing, as it was a big fish day.

What is with these people?? Guess the great outdoors isnt safe any more :(

http://www.pe.com/ap_news/California/CA ... 443C.shtml

When I first heard about the ranger being attacked, I was wondering if it was any of the guys that are volunteering on the West Fork. Either way, its getting dangerous out there to be in nature.

Went camping at Yosemite a few years ago. Someone parks and proceeds to set up camp. They decide that they need music and that the whole campground should enjoy thier style of music also. About 5 minutes into the music, some lady yells at the top of her lungs "Could you please turn that CRAPPY music down?" I couldnt tell how long it took for them to turn it off since most of the campground was either laughing from her comment or applauding the ladys courage. The music never came on again. Joshua and I still bring it up every time we hear that type of music as it shakes my car from the bass vibrations.

Be safe out there guys and gals!!!

I vote carry a (or more) gun too and return fire if necessary :bananadance:

Never mind this happened in California

Seriously though it is pretty sad.

Maybe CADFG should start issuing "Gang member tags" :gun: :bananadance:

Well sure I have, on several occasions. It usually happens like this: some guy is out on the river fishing, ignoring his wife or gf who is left on shore to pout and get bored. She sees me passing by and stops me for some casual conversation. About the time we are slipping off into the bushes the bullets start flying. You know, sometimes it's a curse and not a blessing to be born handsome. Image Image

lol

As far as the "ranger" that was assulted, it was not a volunteer. The East Fork "Ranger Station" is a barracks for forest service employees. This is just a reminder that San Garbage Canyon is the East LA of the forest.

Others your a broad and deserved to be stomped out.
Hopefully FCSD roughed them up before they were transported.

The barking is a gang related activity of the Fresno Bulldogs. No, not the Fresno State type, but the gang who has hijacked the mascot and colors. They number over 1000 and are one of Cali's worst gangs. They ordered hits on officers and had members arrested for forcibly tattooing a 7 year old with the gang tattoo.

I'd say how I felt,, but it would have to be in the mud slinging room!
