For years I've been really careful about cleaning my boots, washing my waders, etc. But, it wasn't until I spent a day on the beach chasing leopards, wearing waders, until I noticed that my 8 year old Simms goretex have a seam where two layers are stitched together, just above the neoprene boot, and it trapped about a pound of sand, in each leg. I had to lay my waders in the sun, and carefully twist them back and forth to pour all of the sand out. I visited the Spot, and noticed that the new waders don't have an opening in the same place, and likely don't trap stuff...
