I can not bid on the trip but I do vouch $50.00 to her. I'll be sending the money ASAP.

New to the board. My wife is undergoing a grueling round of chemotherapy for recurrent breast cancer post 12 years. She will be going with me hopefully the last weekend of Oct to close the upper sierra season. All I can say please help raise as much money as you can to help the cause. I'm a surviver of thyroid cancer but it pails in comparsion to watch someone you love go through such a poisoning of the body to kill a cancer cell. She tells me everyday(today her white blood cell count is <1000, normal is 5000-10,000) that she's fighting the good fight every minute of every day. I've had a few tears today.

Be well,

JB

My wife lost her brother while they were kids to cancer... WE lost her mother last year to leukemia.. it brings tears to my eyes remembering how much my mother in law suffered... It effects everyone around you and there is soo much pain and heartache.

You would do better if there was a way to get >3/4 a bottle of wine down me but I'll go $300.00 and take either Jon or Richard.
I haven't seen Sam in 8-10 months.

Is this a ruse to get me to go to 10,000.01. It won't work without the wine.

That would be my brother being my brother

Hopefully everyone understood that. I had already commited my donation a while back, otherwise I would have placed a legit bid.

Jim, you're a good guy...I'm sure you'll enjoy your tax write-off trip with David. If we ever cross paths, the drinks are on me.

Hi guys! This is Lisa, Craig's wife. I just wanted to thank all of you for your generous donations. I know a lot of you have already donated and Jim, thank you for such an incredible bid. I have been able to meet my minimum fundraising requirement to walk but if you have others in your life that would be interested in donating, please feel free to forward them my walker page url at http://www.avonwalk.org/goto/lisacoston so together we can raise a significant amount of money for this great cause!

I know a lot of you have shared your hearts regarding your own personal experiences with cancer affecting your family and I just want to let you know that you will all be on my mind as I walk in this event next weekend. I have been blessed with a number of amazing women in my life that have shaped who I am today. For that, I want to do whatever I can to help stop this cancer from taking another wife, another mom, another daughter, another sister and friend.

As Craig mentioned before, our friends on this forum have been more generous than a lot of the people we know personally. While I understand times are tough and there is a lot of need out there, you have no idea how alone a person starts to feel when you try to do something big and you have to pull teeth to convince people to help out. If you know me personally, you know that I am not big on pulling teeth! :D

So I just want to give out a big THANK YOU to our friends on this forum. Your generousity is greatly appreciated and I will carry it in my heart for the rest of my life.

I just want to close with a verse out of the Bible that has been such an encouragement to me.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to ALL people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:9-10

God Bless!
Lisa
