Some of you guys might know I'm building a net from a tree branch I confiscated from the back patio. I put a finish on the wood the last few days and I received the net a few weeks ago. In was going to attach the net to the frame in the usual matter using 15 lb mono but I thought this would be better.

I think the thread looks way awesome but I'd be concerned about how well it's gonna stand up to abuse? Planning on putting a lacquer on it or anything? Good job matching thread to the color of the wood though!

Very nice Rick. Most folks could not see that net in a tree branch from your yard. It takes someone with some vision to pull that off.

Thanks guys for the nice comments. Glad you all approve. Ray, the net is made of fine mono filament so it should stand up to some abuse. The webbing is spaced about 1/16 of an inch. The frame is the weak link. Ryan, I would use a rod wrapping finish on it but I decided to go with a 15 lb mono wrapping this time. The next one will be wrapped with thread. Here's the finished product.

A fine job. I'd love to see it up close. I specially like the way you made the 'loop' and finished it off into the handle. Can you post of close up of that joint? You certainly are heading in a wonderful direction. Looks great!
