Cool Link
For those of you that went on the big fish hunt it is the guy that passed us up on the trail with the bike.

That's a really nice writeup on the development of a truly packable tube. Look forward to seeing the final, finished product.

Jon,
I'm not sure if you ran into him at the BFH also, but he was for sure the guy who passed us up on a bike when we went there during Jon's mammoth retreat weekend.

I recognize that weird orange tube he had

I was already feeling like a sluggish layabout due to the number of half-finished projects I have going on. Reading that thread didn't help. :( Seriously though, that's a pretty cool DIY report.

The guy is an engineer, and very......how would you say it? "fanatical" about stuff like this. He also has plans(checkout the thread at the same forum)for a pram. I'm sending him a float tube, so he can do some R&D. Really look forward to seeing the finished product.

Thats the guy from the gathering. Kind of cool pump too. It was just a "pillow" shaped bladder with a valve. He would blow it up with his mouth, attach to the bladder and "squeeze" the air into the tube.
