Greg,

Why would you do that when Boise State is playing....

Maybe my using of the phase "pointless reality" was an unintentional pun, as it relates
to Boise State. No matter how well they do, it might be pointless at least as far
as the BCS is concerned. Too bad.

I don't get why people jump on people here, it's just juvenile. So he's promoting a new website, does that not mean he won't contribute in some minimum capacity as it seems is required around here.

I don't know what's required to "be a part of the community." But whatever your definitions are, the community sure seems to have a inhospitable welcoming committee.

They can still do it, but not with three other undefeated teams.

I don't think so. When Auburn goes down to Alabama (or Newton is found to have been ineligible) and Oregon falls to Oregon State, I guess that puts Boise and TCU into the big one, eh?

GO BRONCOS!

Oh, and why would a fly have to be commercially available to warrant a recipe or inclusion? Or did I misunderstand your statement? There are many flytiers on this site and noncommercial patterns often far outperform commercial ones.

great about the website and fly patterns! I checked it out and found the information on the rivers interesting. Can't wait to see your website grow and contribute to the community and this website.

At the present time I only want commercially available flies so that the recommendations on my site
can be purchased and used by an individual who is going to fish a particular water. I don't want to
recommend a pattern that can't be acquired. As time goes on, I will add (non commercial) great local patterns and
include a link to tying instructions.

Mike,
I agree with you 100%. It's not like he wanted info on some out of the way stream or was hot spoting. I would like to see more guides and shops let us know what is going on as far as sales and other events and fishing conditions.

Hi Greg,

Just a heads up. In the Central Valley & Foothills section, Buz's Fly Shop in Visalia, has been closed for some time. In the Eastern Sierra section, Reno Fly Shop announced they are closing. Tough times for Ca. fly shops. :(

In the Central Sierra, you might want to include Ace Mountain Hardware in Truckee. There was an Orvis shop in Tahoe City, but I'm not sure about it anymore.

+2
some forums end up being very "clique-ish" and while there are basic forum rules you will see people getting harangued left and right by the "regulars" even if no forum rules were broken.

And you do a good job! This site is quite unique in that regard.
