I went on their web site and found spraying a solution of rubbing alcohol/water mixture on the interior fabric of the waders will bring out small holes by showing up as black spots. I did this and was able to locate what appeared to be a few small pin holes, however, I noticed one of my main inseams turned black too. Is this an indication that the seam needs replacing? Just curious..
Depending on how much of the seam turns black, I would just seal it with Aquaseal. If it's your opinion the seam is going to fail, I would contact Simms Customer service, and make arrangements for them to look at it.
I have an old pair of Simms waders. I've sealed pinholes, and seams, and the repairs have held up. I don't use the waders much anymore, but expect them to need small repairs in the future. In my experience, ALL waders leak. Some right out of the box, and some after a year(or less)of use.....but as long as you are using them, they will eventually leak.
