What happened to the Lower Owens?

Postby fly addict » December 19th, 2010, 8:36 pm

I just looked at the real time flows and the Lower Owens is at 254. DWP ramped up the flows today. That is real strange for this time of year. The webcam at Crowley show's it is snowing up there.

Sorry about that. As it happens, I did drive through Bishop today. :? They must have been following me! Actually, there was rain, very strong at times, all the way from Ridgecrest to Bishop. A little ways up the hill from there it changed to heavy snow, chains or 4WD with snow tires on all four. Heavy snow all the way into town and it is still snowing now. 36-50" in the last 24 hours at the mountain with another 18-30 predicted for tonight and 10-16 more tomorrow. Woo hoo! I don't know about the LADWP - Mother Nature might be playing the larger role with this rise in flows. Time to wax the skis! 8-)

It will have to stop raining first. And the weather reports call for a lot more rain in the next 72 hrs. :(

Still snowing steadily this morning. The deck where we enjoyed beers and cigars just a couple of months ago is deep under snow. Chest deep at least to get to the hot tub. Plus, it is raining off and on in Bishop still. It may not bode well for fishing a week from now, but (knock wood firmly!) it's starting off to look like a good water year.
