Just bought a 15 degree Marmot Helium online from UltraliteOutfitters.com, got for $285. Normally sells at REI for $390. Been watching the prices, figured they might drop in January. Campmor had it for $319, this is $30+ less than that. Gets a great review on warmth/light/compact.
850+ fill down, 2lbs 3oz and packs down small. Should be good for backpacking up to the CW lakes area this summer, think my 30 degree ultralight (1lb 7oz) might be too little insulation.
Should have it before I go to the LO on 1/29-2/1. Probably camp out after all.

Last year, a local shop had the same bag on sale for the same price. I was shocked to see it so cheap. Very tempted to buy it, but I just don't need a ultralight, 15 degree bag.

I replaced a 20 degree bag last year that was horrible, more like a 40-50 degree bag, with the Helium. I should have gotten the Hydrogen, but went with the warmer Helium not wanting to repeat the bad experience with the other bag. Very warm bag, probably good to quite a bit below the rated 15 degrees.
Nature always wins.

Thanks for the kudos on my choice.
I have a Lafuma 30 degree ultralight, but after doing the CWL basin on a dayhike, and seeing the beautiful terrain, I have to spend a couple nights or so exploring this summer.
Unfortunately, maybe being cold all night in the 30 bag, and not having a fire in the morning, might be a bummer on the adventure. Plus, I understand that down bags last a long time, if treated well.
I can use the 30 bag for the Kern later in the summer/fall anyway.
