Broken TFO

Postby fish-on-bro » January 21st, 2011, 10:05 pm

I have a broken TFO 8wt and their website confused me a bit on sending the rod in for repair. The instructions say to send the broken rod in with $25.00, ok got that. Here's were I'm a little lost: do I send additional money for return shipping? :?
Thanks

No need for return postage. TFO will take care of that.

As Richard said, the $25 fee includes return shipping so you do not need to include that.

Relatively quick turnaround time too. I think mine took exactly a week.

Mark, throwing a big clouser in the surf. I felt a little nick then looked about 6 inches from the tip and noticed a dull spot in the rod. Touched it with my finger and it just folded in half. Wish I broke it on a big fish. Guys, thanks for all the info

Dean,

I use to spend a lot of time fishing and primitive camping in Baja. Never used a fly rod while I was fishing there. And with the way it is now with all the drug gangs and corruption, I don't think I'll be heading down there anytime too soon!!!

At least you didn't slam it in your car door. :( TFO will just send you a new section or rod.

No problems with the drug cartels in Loreto or La Paz... neither is a border Town or Big resort destination... But I will avoid Tijuana for the next couple of Years....

Yeah Chuck, the accidental "Whacking" with a Surf fly due to the wind or bad tracking of the fly will put the hurt on your rods... it's happened to me a few times yes.... But TFO does take good care of you.... 8-)
