Surprise in the mail!

Postby fflutterffly » February 1st, 2011, 2:41 pm

As many of you know and wished me well on my birthday... yesterday I received a belated b-gift in the mail. Borntotieflies (Keith) in Provo, Utah sent me a wonderful fly tying book Tying and Fishing Soft-Hackle Flies by McGee. The wonderful gift is full of history, explanations of materials, flies and methods and why the fly are fished a certain way. Some of the illustrations are in water color others, of the flies, are printed photo's. If you are interested in these types of flies and their history... this is a very nice book.

That is a sweet Book... I do love the soft hackles/Yorkshire Spiders and Flymphs and that Tome enlightens Folks to them in a clean, east going, yet informative style....

Enjoy!!!! :bananadance: :bananadance:

:grouphug: Your to much Ariel. This is what I like about this site. It gives people the opportunity to come in here and express their theory's or beliefs and experiences. A while back I did a post on whats your pet peeve. After that post I could see that we all have more in common than just fly fishing.
For the past little while Ariel and I have been talking with each other and exchanging flies. Theory's and stories of fly fishing. :D And over time we have developed a friend ship from it.
But most of all this site gives people the opportunity to develop Friend ships.

Ariel,

That book contains a wealth of good information. It is probably one of the FF tomes I refer to the most !!!

PS: HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY !!!

I also got myself a copy of Curtis Creek Manifesto. This is a heavy on the book birthday. I also got the complete Halo series for myself, the complete works of Edgar Al Poe and a few new magazine subs. My nose is deep in pages!!!

Great book isn't it, Ariel? Congrats and the fantastic gift. :D :D :D
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.
