Postby fly addict » January 28th, 2011, 7:33 pm

Long Beach Casting Club is having a fundraiser for the South West Council Federation Fly Fishers on February 5, 9am till 3pm. There will be fly tiers, casting instructors, Fly gear swap meet, BBQ and other activities. Come on down spend the day and go to the Fly Fishing Film Tour that night in Long Beach! There are a few of us who will be at Club on Saturday and the movie later. Maybe we can go get pizza in between the 2 events. Here is a link to more info.

I’ll be at the LBCC as well. How about we get together after the Long Beach Club event and meet for pizza and beer before the movie. Show of hands, who’s up for it?

I'll wear a NY Yankees hat and if a guy in a Red Sox hat comes up and punches me in the face, I'll know it's you.

I stopped by for a few hours during the morning. I didn't run into any board members, but I had fun watching a few people tie flies, talked to Mas Okui who I've learned a lot from over the years, and spent about an hour standing in the pond in my flip flops trying to cast a spey rod which I have never done before. I had a great teacher trying to help me by the name of Ray Bianco from the FFF. I kept making the same mistakes over and over again which was both funny and frustrating. Watching Ray and a few others cast the spey rods was worth the drive.
