It was pretty cool shindig, it was good to see some old faces and some new faces.

Lee, you got me all pumped up about fly fishing down in Loreto. I'm going to have to get all my gear together and make a trip down there real soon.

I guess my Boston hat wasn't enough. Next year I'll have to come up with something else. Was Dean tying? If he was, I missed him.

Unfortunately i suffer from Insomnia from time to time... and had a bout with it Friday night... I do not dare drive anywhere when this happens... so the Long drive to long beach and back home would have proven risky (I cannot focus well and my attention to driving suffers).. So Unfortunately I did not show up yesterday.... :(

Dean, sorry you were not able to make it. There were some great tiers.

Lee, I'm going to be in Loreto at the same time. I go every year over the 4th, but I normally don't fish. Maybe I'll make an exception this year.

Mark, not to sound like a smart a**, but what do you do there if you don't fish?

My wife and I have friends that have a house down there, and we just hang around, kayak, snorkel, eat and drink. Sometimes we hire a panga and go out to one of the islands to swim and sight see.

I know it's a great time of the year for dorado and have seen lots of dorado while kayaking as they break up schools of fish, and we've also seen them when we're out in the pangas.

If you're down there for two weeks, are you fishing every day? I've stopped by and talked to Pam Bolles about fishing in the past and would enjoy doing it, but haven't at this point.

If you fly fish, the place is Heaven. There are dorado, pargo(snapper), cabrilla(bass), ladyfish, roosterfish, etc etc etc.

If you are going over to an island, it more than likely is Isla Coronado, have you hiked to the top of the volcano? It has a really turquoise water in the bay area where everyone picnics and has good fishing all around the island.

Pam's good people, I've known her for over 10 years and fish with her at least one day when I'm there. Here's a shot of her when we were neck deep in dorado, that's her husband who was trying to get out of our way as we rounded the boat fighting fish.

If you have an 8wt and a sinking line you can fish there. If you have a 10 wt as well, you can fish for everything but sailfish. Pam rents gear by the way.

Any questions, you can email me at flyfishthesurf@yahoo.com

Dean, how do you like how close to shore the flotilla was with a school of dorado eating anything in site?
