Howdy Fellows
Brad Bohen here - aka AftonAngler...
I'm one of the musky guys in the Fly Fishing Film Tour. I'm glad to hear you all had a fun time at the F3T! We did drive out from Wisconsin to attend a few of the shows on the West Coast. Long Beach and Ventura were FUN! Best part was meeting a bunch of passionate fly anglers in a different part of the world.
Brian Porter and I and the musky dog Penny the Setter got to hang out for a day at Fisherman's Spot. We tied musky flies and met a few fly fishing crazies from So Cal. Tim Dalton aka 007/James Bond came by and is a very into fly fishing. That was cool meeting him.
Robby King is an EXCELLENT film maker! What a pleasure to meet him as well! Thanks for taking the time to find us Rob...and please, please, please bring your hide and camera up to Musky Country sometime and lets see what we can do!!
The three of us got to do some surf fishing down there as well. Man is that fun...so different than anything I have ever experienced. Being in the surf and fishing the Ocean with a fly rod is HEAVEN on Earth in February for us Wisco hicks. You folks are fortunate to have those fishing options this time of the season...back home it has been -30F and snow up to the butt crack!
YIKES!
I'll extend an invite to Musky Country to you all. If you are interested in traveling to Wisconsin to sample the world class Warm Water fishery we have up that way for musky, pike, smallmouth bass and other assorted predators we can help you plan your trip. It's an easy place to get to, the fishing is fairly cheap compared to other destinations and Upper Wisco will blow you away with its great beauty!
http://www.MuskyCountryOutfitters.comWe will be back for sure to Southern Cali! Conway offered us up an invite to fish makos...those surf perch are great fun and oh yes...LEOS on a fly as well...got to see one or two leopards and they are for sure on my bucket list now!
Here is to getting BENT DEEP in 2011!
All the Best
Your Pal
