Fly fishing podcast?

Postby super dry fly » March 31st, 2011, 11:35 am

With such a diverse group of members out there, I wanted to get some feedback on what fly fishing related podcasts you all might subscribe/listen to, in the hope of supplementing my tedious commute with thoughts of better times.

Thanks in advance.

Askaboutflyfishing.com has 90 min. interviews with over 100 fly experts. The audio is not perfect but the info is awesome.

Orvisnews.com fly fishing guide podcast with Tom Rosenbauer has near perfect audio and great info as well as surprisingly few product endorsements.

Itinerant and Ask About have been top of my list for ages.
A lot of wisdom to be found!

Fly Fishing on the Web's "Fly Fishing Weekly" podcast is a lot of fun. Sometimes the guys sound like rank amateurs, but it's rather entertaining. It's kinda like sitting around the campfire BSing with your fishing buddies. They haven't recorded a new one in nearly a year, but there are are many previously recorded ones that are probably still sitting there. I also second the nominations for Ask About Fly Fishing and Itinerant Angler.

Good question and I look forward to downloading some of those podcasts for future trips!

I used to listen to a lot of books on tape, which you have probably done as well if you are looking for podcasts for a commute. However, for the last couple of years I have been downloading the weekly shows "This American Life" "A Prairie Home Companion" "Car Talk" and occasionally "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" from NPR. At one hour each you might want to consider adding some of them to your drive. It's impossible to be in a bad mood, no matter how bad the traffic jam, if you are listening to Car Talk. (I use the free software Miro to capture these podcasts. You can find a ton of other podcasts listed there, but alas, none on fly fishing).
