Friends,
Due to an unfortunate error (high sticking ), I am in the market for a new creek rod. I'd initially prefer something 7'6" and maybe a 3/4 weight. I've always liked a 2 piece (I remember metal ferrules), but maybe 4 piece would be more compact for packing, although I usually just carry the two piece in it's sock with reel attached when hiking. I've never broken a rod hiking, backpacking, or closing a car door, only when trying to dislodge a stuck nymph.
My old rod was a cheapy that is not warranted (Redington Crosswater), and was just a utility piece. I'd appreciate any recommendations. Not sure I'm ready for the 0 weight crowd, but you can try and convince me. Budget, maybe $100 to $200, tops.
I also have no problem with a used rod previously owned by a little old lady who never fished much.
