How do trout anglers see their backing??? Turn the reel on it's side and stare at the backing thru the porting holes..

How do Saltwater Anglers see their backing??? Hook a Fish and watch the flyline followed by the backing melt off the reel at warp 12...

Only if it's the special blue backing, it combines the best of distance and presentation remember.

Yea but I am now using the blue backing on my 7/8 spey rod with DT fly line for extra distance (I was thinking of checking out the new Sage Quiet Double line for this rod for even more distance).

On my 7 wt, I tried out the orange distance plus backing.

On my 9wt, I suck and only have standard white backing (no wonder why I cant get any distance on the * thing).

On my trout crap, I just tie the fly line to the arbor :bananadance:

Gotta go for big fish, little trout wont take you to your backing the same way perch wont ;)
