There were once some very BIG Trout in the entire Owens ecosystem...a long time ago...

there were quite a few native fish in the owens river before it was dammed, diverted, and filled with non-native browns and rainbows. They include:

owens tui chub
owens pupfish
toikona tui chub
owens speckled dace
owens sucker

Lol, my bad . . . I always have to remember this when people scream at me for stepping a boot into Hot Creek- they get all huffy about conserving the ecosystem (of the non-native fishes).
