California Fish Hatcheries before 1960

Pretty interesting read, lots of history on places we all know and fish from indian attacks, floods, volcanic eruptions, pack trains to aerial stockings, and salmon in Hat Creek and up the Pit River. Can you imagine Hat Creek being wiped out again (yes again) from Mt Lassen erupting? Hope you enjoy it.

Good read RF. Now if the hatcheries can only raise trout that taste like tofu, then maybe there will be more left on the water...

Hey Mike, thanks for the link, lots of cool history there!

I really loved this shot, reminds me of the West Fork of the SG on planting days! ( back in the days when they used to stock it  )
