Hey now, this is a family site. Enough with the insect booty shots! :o Really, though, that's a neat shot. I enjoyed having to scan it and then have that moment of discovery. The detail is sweet and you get thumbs up for the late season hopper feeding theme.

Either I need a new camera or a new set of eyes. I could pick any photo from my collection and not beat out the photos these guys took in the last 2 weeks. Nice work!

That's me and I've even got the new camera. It's going to take me a while before I start to even come close. :?

You should see what they have at Venice Beach...It looks like a fly tying convention out there.

Just a friendly reminder that there are only 10 days left in this month and the contest is almost over. Get out and fish and don't forget to snap some shots.

There are some beautiful photos already posted, but thought I would throw one of mine in the ring.

I think I see a fly rod and reel illustrated there somewhere...the wife telling the husband he fishes too much, blah blah blah...

Cool.

Well the month of October has come and gone and this contest is officially over. I really enjoyed looking at all the submissions. Although all the images were cool, there could only be one winner.

My pick is the submission by Mark (1mocast)
Image

The photo just stood out to me, it's combination of the emerald colored water with the fresh snow on the ground and Bob on top the boulder sort of leaning forward wait to set that hook.

A side note for Papa, I really liked the photo of Curtis hooked up on the fish while standing in the middle of the river in a driving snow storm, it reminded me of what we sometimes expose ourselves to in pursuit of trout, it was clearly my favorite of the three you posted.

Thanks again for playing guys.
