CURE!!!!!! WHAT CURE? Its terminal, no known cure. Its so bad, I just bought a St. Croix switch blank and I don't even know anything about fishing a switch rod. To add insult to injury, its a plastic rod . Oh well, you do strange things when you need a fix. Besides it was a great sale. Switch rods..... another realm in which to feed the addiction.

Waterborne is just a rod collecting pup thrown into a pen with rod collecting junk yard dogs. I didn't want to turn him completely to the dark side until he has wasted several thousand dollars on plastic rods . Because you know, once you fish Bamboo, you never look back
It is pretty amusing. Plastic rods are getting so expensive for the "Next great rod" that Bamboo is starting to look better and better .

There's a brown truck heading south carrying a new Sage TXL 1 weight that I scored on closeout. Original plan was to sell the Orvis SFT 761 and get something shorter, TFO Finesse 6'9" 1 weight, but I have difficulty passing on good deals.

So in the whopping 6 months since this addiction began, I own:

Sage TXL 1 wt - for the little guys in Angeles, Cleveland, and San Berdoo NF
Cabelas Three Forks 7'6" 3 wt - my first rod which resides permanently in my truck with a small box of flies
Redington Classic Trout 7'6" 3 wt - backcountry, high alpine creeks
Scott A3 8' 4 wt - Owens/Kern for mostly dries and some small nymphs
Scott A3 9' 5 wt - for days when I have no idea how/what I'll be throwing

And I'm now contemplating a fast action 906 just for throwing streamers.


What's the cure for such insanity?

You better never cast a Winston WT/IM6. If you do, all the rods you have might be for sale.

Yikes! That had to be a brand new, old IM6. Even at that, there had to be two guys who really wanted to drive the price up that high. I can see a 4wt, Sage LL going for that much though.

Now back to that 6wt you were talking about. I've cast more than a couple Winston Biix rods, and they are seriously sweet. Now that they have been discontinued, you can pick them up at a good discount.
