Looks like a chironomid (midge) pupae to me.

Looks like a parasite called an anchor worm. Relatively harmless to trout, but could be harmful to humans. Known to effect mostly older males. ;)

Shane, I dig your shot a lot! Ok ... my humble entry from this morning with Al Q. I have not gotten my license yet so I tagged along with my wetsuit and just took shots.

Wow. The photography is really stepping up. Bernard, that's an intriguing landscape- one that makes an impact!

Anchor Worm (Lernaea)

Anchor worms are parasites that infect humans and one of the main problems with them is that they increase the risk of attracting other diseases, make money disappear and the credit card charges go through the roof. The anchor worms can cause serious damage to a Males and can eventual kill the male if the male has a huge life insurance policy, but anchor worms are only seldom the cause of death in males. since anchor worms often shop in pacts you will never see a anchor worm shopping by itself. Be careful of the Anchor worm due to the anchor worm may attract other's and then the Male will have to take drastic measures and close the credit store.
