More Sierra Nets?

It's getting so you can't go anywhere these days without running into more mention of Sierra Nets. Congrats, Greg! Might be time to start hiring some apprentices, eh? :D

Talked with Greg yesterday and he mentioned he had a backorder of 20 or so nets. That's a couple months of work, keep it up guys! That write up in midcurrent is so true, most things I have get used and abused but that net will be taken care of like a baby. I plan on giving it to my son eventually and for some reason I think it will be more treasured than most physical belongings. Mine will be done before the end of the month (It better be or I'll have to kill him.) If Greg doesn't post a picture of it I will, with a fish of course!

Someday we'll be able to say "We knew him when". I have no doubt Greg will become the best known net builder anywhere. Work like that can't go unnoticed.

My one beef with the article is the author's reference to a custom Bamboo rod costing a couple thousand. He's killing me!!! ;)

Famous? He is now. The article was by Kirk Deeter who is famous his own self. So if Greg wasn't famous, well that will likely get him some attention.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Wow! A friend just sent me the link to the Midcurrent article. I had no idea about it! Matter of fact, I have been so busy, I haven't been on FFA for a while. Things, after Pleasanton and Pasadena, have been crazy busy. I have a ton of commissions with 3 more just this week.

Thanks for all your support guys n gals. It's appreciated more than you know. Benny, your net is going out UPS today. Luc, please don't kill me  -I have too much to live for! It'll be ready on time! Matter of fact, here it is! This net is gorgeous instrument-grade curly claro walnut and curly maple. The indentations at the neck accommodate the stretchy Lycra at the front of the Measure Net which Luc wants. This net is still rough and has been sprayed with denatured alcohol for the pic.

Yeah, I know... stop making me think of everything that can go wrong, I have a love hate relationship with this company. I'm grateful to be employed by them, but unfortunately I work first hand with all the damaged parcels and know exactly what can happen...

Yeah I noticed Greg. Just got the net a short time ago. It looks insanely nice, not sure if I want to use or just stare at the at it. Beautiful piece of work!

Very cool Benny! I just saw this, and was wondering if you had received it yet. Glad you like it. Catch some fish in it for the love of GOD! Otherwise, I would have just squirt some lacquer on it an called it a day! LOL! Hopefully you can post up a few pics when you get her broke in, and I can add them to my website.
