Need a day pack

I have been using an old North Face backpack, it's on its last leg so to speak. I just started looking for a new pack, I found this nice looking day pack from Orvis Safe Passage Angler's Day Pack. The main purpose is going to be for fly fishing. I need to carry some extra clothing, the essential emergency supplies, fly fishing supplies as well, oh and let's not forget my camera and perhaps an extra lens or two. The Safe Passage Angler really caught my eye with it's insulated cooler compartment. It's so nice to have a cold drink when out on a warm day. I'm quite sure it would keep a turkey or ham sandwich nice a fresh as well.

Anyhow I'm wondering if any of you have this pack or something similar. What do you guys think about the Orvis pack? Or perhaps you guys might have another recommendation with similar features.

Check out the Fishpomd backpacks. The Piney Creek runs about $170 and has a detachable chest pack. Been eye balling that for the high Sierra season.

I had an Orvis daypack that was probably several generations older than the model you're looking at. I used it quite a bit back then, but at some point, just quite using a pack. For me, if I had the space to pack something, I usually filled it with an unnecessary item.

The Safe Passage looks like a really nice pack especially if you are going to carry a DSLR and spare lens. Just and FYI. I've found that a regular daypack like Gregory, Osprey, etc will work just fine, and typically be more comfortable carrying a load.

Thanks, I'll likely get the Safe Passage Angler's Day Pack from Orvis. I'm going to head over to Pasadena and try it on and see how the pack feels while wearing it with stuff inside. To all of you that sent me the PM's thanks.
