Do you want to be on TV?

Postby JGFLYFISH » March 15th, 2012, 4:09 pm

David Gregg sent my Club, SPFF, an e-mail concerning a casting call for fly fishermen and fly fisherwomen this weekend, and based on my e-mail exchange with him, they are looking for younger fly anglers between the ages of 25-35, in shape and outdoorsy looking.

Attached is his original e-mail to my Club, and his contact info. Feel free to contact him directly should you have additional questions.

Good luck!

JG

Hello,
My name is David Gregg. I am working at a commercial production company Supply & Demand on a Michelob Ultra Light Commercial. Part of the commercial we need fly fishers - both men and women. I am writing to you to see if you think any of the members of your group would be interested in attending a casting call in Santa Monica this coming Saturday March 17th. The shoot would be up in Mammoth sometime from March 26th thru March 30th including paid travel days.

If you think any of your members would be interested you can either email me back or call me 323.496.6626, and let me know how I should post the necessary information.

Thank You

Dave Gregg

Does this mean there will finally be a commercial with someone casting correctly?
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Define... 'fit'... lol

Well I'm not 25-35 but if you add them together I'm closer, I can be outdoorsy looking if I try, as for shape does oval sound like something they'd be interested in? :bananadance:

I guess I'm out. That's why I drink Stones IPA and not Michelob

I've seen one or two the last year or so that are getting closer. Meaning there are loops involved instead of circles.

Ha, if I wasn't working a double shift this day I would totally be down.

I'm just too ugly. Plus, I could not morally support the consumption of swill pretending to be beer.... :D

So what's his email. I'm sure I have a few friends that would act like a monkey for them for a free trip to Mammoth. I love seeing what "Madison Avenues" idea of what fly fishers actually do...

Doh, saw this too late. I'd take a paid trip to do some fishing up in the Sierras + make some more industry contacts...

Does the gig require running in waders while being chased by an animal that instinctively considers humans as food?

I missed the casting call. Too bad to. I was younger and better looking on the 17th. Now I'm old and balding. Timing is everything.
