Sounds like a lot of fun with some great company. I think that is the weekend my Club is taking our casting class graduates to Bishop/Mammoth though, so it looks like I will miss out on the fun.

There's no might about it, Mike. The date is perfect for you. So how about a trip report.

Looks like another good time. Unfortunately that would definitely be an overnighter for me and I already have one planned for the previous weekend, so it doesn't look good. But, we'll see - you never know. :)

Last year, I flailed. This year, I plan on being a contender. (Well....maybe not such a flagrant flailer  )

The date is April 7th at Dana Point harbor park...great casting games and learning....try out some incredible rods...pot luck and someone always brings some cool materials for fly tying to share.

No....it's just past the bridge on the cliff side in a mini park area. It's before those areas you mentioned. We'll have signs up and you can't miss the 30 folks with waving fly rods!

We only have a couple of week left before this event. There is a good group of Addicts that plan on attending. I will have a few casting instructors that will be there to help you with some casting issues you might have.
It looks like it is time to talk about the food for this BBQ. I will bring a batch of Pulled BBQ pork that I smoke for ten hours or so, with some homemade killer sauce to pour on top. Bob is going to bring his signature smoked salmon. Eric is bringing a pot of cowboy beans. That gives you guys a start of what else to add to make this a feast. We need food for Lunch and dinner, also drinks and plates and utensils.
Here is a list of Addicts that are attending so far,
Jim, Wildman
Eric
Tom Sakai
Ryan Rkfiske
Richard Cullip
Greg, fishfreak911
Justin, Maybe
Bob, Flybob
David, Tyingfool
Bill, Beachbum
Mike, Rockstar
Mark, 1mocast
Tom, Silverlaker Maybe
Flyster
LDR, Larry
Me
Meb
Mike.S, adult beverages
Jim T, eating utensils and plates

If anyone else wishes to attend just let me know.
Mark

You know...the beauty of this event is it is no stress and a ton of fun. There are a number of certified Fly Casting Instructors that are on hand and if you would like to work on parts of your cast...they will give it a whirl. The casting games themselves are really a lot of fun and a couple are quite a stretch but doable. The food is fantastic. There normally are a number of incredible fly rods to try out and last year we got to sample some great tying supplies. I am looking forward to doing a lot better then last year. It's a lot of fun and well worth the effort to get there.
