My Cliff's Bugger Beast Project

Inspired by Jeff Currier and Paul Puckett I thought of adding a little pizzazz to my Cliff's box that I have for my Bass/SW BIG flies. This is how its coming out so far. we'll see how it looks when I start using pen/marker on it. If it is ends up looking like * I'll just have to cover it with decals.

I like it, looks like it's done to me the way it is. Why not just do a coating of something to preserve it a is? I think it looks awesome.

Nice sketch. That's a big mouth anyone would love to catch.

Appreciate the kind words everybody.

Filling it is not the problem, that's already done. Its using ink that's the problem. I was never good at rendering in pen and ink so I'm not sure how it will come out. I'm practicing on paper before it goes on permanently.

Very interested to see how she turns out. Once done you should send some photos to the owner of the company. He's a cool guy. I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

I've finished my Cliff's Bugger Beast Bass Fly Box. Its not exactly perfect and it's no Paul Puckett but I guess I can live with it. I may do some touch up later. It's been years since I've done any "art" and this project was quite fun. I wonder it these sharpies will stay on my small C&F fly boxes. If it does I may start drawing on my trout boxes and drawing a subject I care much more about.

Since I've never been comfortable with rendering in "pen and ink," I scanned the box and practiced my cross hatching technique on paper. It still needs some work but I got impatient and decided to just go for it. I think I like my practice paper version better but oh well.

Thanks for looking.

If you really want it...here it is. Looks like I'm not the only one who likes looking in other peoples fly box.

Very nice indeed.... It's a winner in my book for sure.
Those streamers are awesome. I love how a newly organized box looks. Only if we could keep it that way throughout the fishing season.

Very nice!
