Which water-craft should I get

Postby fly addict » July 11th, 2012, 6:20 am

I’m thinking of getting a new water-craft. Eric and Jim say I need one.
So I did a internet search and here are a few I found. Take a look at a few of the possible choices, what do think?

I wonder if I could use my Triumph on this one!

This one might be better in the rain.

I have seen one like this in the harbor and it seats 4.

This one looks cool.

Mark,
I would go with the four seater. Everyone knows how popular a guy is once he has his own boat. :)

The mark of a true professional is comedic timing. You, sir, have it. Thanks for the smile!

The guy in the amphicar has a rod, reel and fish on the gaff, I'd go with that one.

Is Jeffrey any good at pointing out where the fish are since his head is up a bit more and can thereby see deeper into the water? Do you have to sing the "Toy-R-Us Kid" song to get him to do it?

I'd get the VW Schwimmwagen
Image:
I'd want it mounted with a period correct MG42 in case anyone creaps too closely to my fishing hole
Image
Four wheel drive and it seats four. Just image launching it at the local watering hole...Now the question does it comply with the 4 stroke engine rule?

The Schwimmwagon didn't have a lot of free board and would sink if you took a few waves over the side. 5 years after production started more than 1/2 of them had sunk, if I can believe my uncle who owned 1 and never got it wet.
Makes a good argument for positive floatation.

I think this would be a great fly fishing platform.

Brian, have fun dragging it up that trail to the pond! :o
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

I'll always remember a great line from Car and Driver's road test of the Amphicar: "It combines the worst features of cars and boats."
I have a retirement plan - I plan on going fishing.
