WOW! :o

Gary, that would be a trip of a lifetime for me!

Your camps looked like suburbia!

The photography is off the charts!

Thanks so much for taking the time to post up!

What a great trip and story, I could almost imagine being there. Did you do a trip like that last year also?

Mark

The same general group of riends have gotten together for a week long trek the last four years. Last year was suppose to have been the hike we made this year. We had to cancell it last year because of the heavy/late snows and did this two part trip.

Wow, great trip report and fantastic photography, great job.

P.S. I think that first photo is Skelton Lake, not Arrowhead.

Great TR! Is that bird a Grouse or a Raptor of some kind?
I fish for my sanity. If I catch it, should I still practice catch and release?

It's a Grouse, he seemed as big as a chicken though. That is the best picture I got of it. He wouldn't hold still for the camera.

Gary,
Your pictures triggered my photo memory of my JMT trip. I stayed by Duck Creek one night in that meadow just above the trail. Shared the meadow with Llamas of all things! My experience at Virginia was completely different, relaxed, ate lunch, and fished. Looks like it hailed quite a bit on you guys.

I stayed a night at Squaw Lake before climbing Silver, however I did stop at Silver Pass Lake... if I recall correctly my fish experience was different than yours...

Oh my, how this wonderful post brought back memories. I did a double-take as I saw the tents at Duck Lake. I have camped right there as well! I also camped at Skelton before heading over Duck Pass. Man, the blue skies over duck were EXACTLY how I remember them!

I then day hiked to purple for some nice bows, and golden hybrids.

I would have thought that first picture was one of mine for sure, how cool is that.
